Christmas Tree

Though, Christmas is being celebrated in many parts of the world but when it comes to trace back history of the Christmas tree, different people have different stories. Sometimes it appears a daunting task not just for common people but even for experts and learned people. One theory says, history of the Christmas Tree dates back to 7th century when a monk from Crediton reached Germany to spread the Word of God. That monk did many wonderful works there and spent majority of his time in Thuringia. As we all know that Thuringia has become a synonym for Christmas decoration industry where Christmas Tree is the main item.
There won't be any exaggeration if we say that Christmas is one of the widely celebrated festivals around the world. The Christmas day is being celebrated on 25th Dec every year that marks the beginning of the larger season of Christmastide. As we all know that Christmastide season lasts for complete twelve days. So, perhaps this is the only festival that keeps on going for many days.
Christmas day is celebrated in the remembrance of the birth of Jesus Christ. Apart from Christmas Tree, other things that are closely associated with Christmas are tinsel and stars, Santa Claus, candles, candies, twigs, gingerbread and fruits and sometimes wines too. In the Christmas season you can find many companies and stores, online and offline, selling these items so heavily. No just kids but even adults are often carried away with their charm in the festive season. Nowadays, during Christmas season you can see stores full of varieties of Christmas items, such as Christmas music, Christmas clothes, Christmas food and Christmas gifts.
Other historical information regarding Christmas is that it was originated by the Roman Catholics but later it was celebrated by non-Catholics as well in different parts of the world. As far as America is concerned the history doesn't seem to be very old because it was being celebrated here in the first half of 19th century. Experts say in United States of America it was celebrated by Sunday schools and later it was spread in almost entire America. It is supposed that in America, Alabama was the first state where Christmas celebrations got legal recognition. In Washington DC it got recognition in 1870 and by the year 1893, almost every state in America started giving it an importance. Now, in today's America it is being celebrated like any other parts of the world.
